First of all, I have to say that the guys did sooo much better than the girls this week. I was not impressed at all last night with the girls. How about you?
Now on to my quick recaps...
Carly: It was alright. I don't get why everyone thinks she's great.
Syesha: She has a strong voice but last night's performance wasn't that entertaining.
Brooke: She actually did a very good job. Second best of the night overall. I look forward to seeing what she does next week.
Ramiele: Simon says she's top 3 material. I can sort of see this. She can sing great and I adore her but song choice was a problem.
Kristy: Better than last week and I want to like her but she's forgettable. She does need to do country.
Amanda: She tried too hard and even though she entertained, it ended up being ridiculous. Overall, lots of mistakes.
Alaina: boring. predicable. I think she may go home.
Alexandrea: She's a good singer but again not a good song choice.
Kady: So she sings opera too! Wow! She can do about anything on camera but when she's on stage it's a different story. Another disaster for the night!
Asia'h: The best of the night by far.
My favorites of the night: Brooke, Asia'h,
Who I want to go home based on last night's performances: Alaina or Amanda
Who I think will go home: Alaina or Kady

Boys 70's Week Quick Recap
So last night wasn't all that great either. I'm still trying to figure out why people think this is the most talented group ever. I'm not so sure. Anyway, on the the quick opinionated recap.
Michael Johns: boring.
Jason Castro: decent but didn't do his best. The guitar out performed his voice.
Luke Menard: horrible song choice. seriously.
Robbie Carrico: again, not convincing of his rocker status.
Danny Noriega: I liked it but I get distracted by his looks. Gosh, he really does look so much like Jessica Alba. How can a guy be so "pretty"?
David Hernandez: the best vocals of the night but something is strange about this guy. What is it?
Jason Yeager: another boring performance. I didn't get it.
Chikezie Eze: better than I thought he would do. charming
David Cook: OK performance but he is the better rocker.
David Archuleta: Actually it was a good performance but I just can't seem to like this kid. Tell me why I should.
My favorites of the night: David Hernandez and Jason Castro
Who I want to go home based on last night's performances: Jason Yeager and Michael Johns
Who I think will go home: Luke, Chikezie, or Jason Y. but you never know... What do you think?

Who's Going Home The First Week?
According to DialIdol.com, quite a few of the girls are in trouble and at risk for going home while only4 guys look like they are in trouble. However, we won't really know until tonight's episode.
So, who do you think is going home? Who do you want to go home?
The consensus online is that Garret, Chikezie, Amy, and Joanne are going home tonight. What do you think? My thoughts are that these 4 contestants do have a pretty good chance of going home but so do a few more. We'll see soon.

The Top 12 Guys Perform: 60's Style
When American Idol makes the contestants perform old music (60s in last night's case) it rarely works out well for anyone. Last night was a perfect example of really bad song choices that just didn't work out. Out of twelve guys, only two of them really did well - Jason Castro and Michael Johns. If a fast forward button would have been an option last night, I would have definitely used it for the remainder of the guys. Except maybe I'd watch Luke Menard on MUTE. ;) He's definitely this year's eye candy.
Now for a run down of last night's performances:
David Hernandez: A good solid singer but boring and forgettable.
Chikezie: One of my early on favorites but after last night not so much.
David Cook: The rocker guy. I wasn't very impressed with this performance at all. Again, another forgettable guy. And, seriously, there are just too many Davids this season. Very easy to mix the guys up.
Jason Yeager: This is the first I have seen of this guy. He's a Dad so I think he will get votes based on being a parent. He can actually sing well but in a lackluster way. Jason sort of looks like a young Val Kilmer. Anyone agree?
Robbie Carrico: The boy band turned rocker. Like Simon said and I totally agree, I'm not totally convinced this guy is a true rocker. He may dress the part but what would he be better at? Take off the bandana, cut his hair, and he'd look more like a not so hot version of Justin Timberlake. Overall, his performance was just ok.
David Archuleta: Let me just say that I am just not getting all the excitement over this guy. Sure, he can sing consistently but is he current? NO. Would he sell well? Maybe if your target market is the High School Musical or Hannah Montana crowd.
Danny Noriega: Also an early favorite of mine and still is despite last night's not so great performance. I look forward to seeing and hearing what he does next. He's an interesting character.
Luke Menard: Luke was another one of new guys that we were introduced to last night. He is this year's eye candy but how far will that get him? I'm afraid that he may get booted out tonight due to his uninteresting performance last night. I hope the ladies kept him in so that we have something to look at. ;)
Colton Berry: A very theatrical guy and a solid performer but the Elvis song didn't work for him.
Garrett Haley. Love the name but his singing ability not so much. However, I'd like to hear him sing something current to see how he'd do. After last night he may not get the chance. I think he may be going home.
Jason Castro: Again, another guy that we haven't really seen before. Very talented and unique. I like this guy!
Michael Johns: Another solid performance probably the best of the night but I am already tired of him singing these kinds of songs. I want to hear something new from him.
My Picks For Who I Want To Be Eliminated: David Archuleta and David Hernandez
My Picks For Who Is Probably Going Home: Garrett Haley, Chikezie or David Cook.
Let's hope the girls do much better tonight.
